Denza Launches Lower-Priced Tri-Motor Z9 GT Variant
Denza, BYD's luxury sub-brand, unveiled a new tri-motor variant of its Z9 GT electric vehicle on 9 September 2026, delivering 850 kW (1,140 hp). The e3 Flash Charge trim starts at 329,800 yuan (approximately 49,170 USD), positioning itself 40,000 yuan below the existing Performance Edition while maintaining the same core powertrain.
The new Z9 GT e3 integrates a 230-kW front motor with two 310-kW rear motors, generating combined output of 1,210 N·m torque. The configuration achieves 0–100 km/h acceleration in 2.8 seconds and includes standard independent rear-wheel steering that reduces turning radius to 4.62 meters, enabling low-speed pivot manoeuvres and automated parking functions.
The vehicle employs BYD's second-generation Blade Battery paired with DiSus-A intelligent air suspension. Denza rates the Z9 GT e3 for 860 km CLTC range (600 km WLTP equivalent). The Flash Charging system achieves substantial battery replenishment within five minutes and full charge capability in nine minutes under standard conditions, extending by three minutes in extreme cold. BYD's Flash Charging network surpassed 10,000 operational stations across China by late August.
Price reduction derives primarily from hardware revisions. While the 369,800-yuan Performance version features carbon-ceramic brake discs, the new e3 trim switches to ventilated cast-iron discs. Interior amenities receive targeted streamlining. Driver assistance remains unchanged, retaining DiPilot 5.0 navigation on autopilot and automated parking features. The Z9 GT's 5,195 mm length and shooting-brake fastback body remain consistent across variants.
