Geely Auto launched the refreshed Galaxy E5 on 23 September 2026 with limited-time pricing from 97,800 yuan to 137,800 yuan (approximately $14,400 to $20,300 USD). The update represents the most comprehensive overhaul of the compact electric SUV since its initial launch in August 2024.
The principal change shifts all but the entry-level variant from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive using a full 800-volt architecture. The rear-mounted motor now produces 245 kW (329 hp)—an 85 kW increase from the previous generation. Zero-to-100 km/h acceleration reaches 5.8 seconds. The entry-level Global Classic variant retains a 400-volt architecture, front-wheel drive, and 160 kW motor.
The new Shendun Golden Battery with ultra-short blade cells supports 6C maximum charging rates and 460 kW peak charging power. Real-world testing by Geely demonstrated 10-to-70% charging in 8 minutes and 25 seconds under normal ambient conditions. Three lithium iron phosphate battery options deliver capacities of 60.22, 61.52, and 70.01 kWh, providing CLTC-rated ranges of 530, 550, and 635 kilometers respectively.
Driver assistance underwent significant enhancement through roof-mounted LiDAR on selected trims and the Geely Afari Smart Driving H5 system incorporating 27 high-performance sensors. Urban and highway navigation-on-autopilot functionality is now supported alongside memory parking and touchless parking modes. The interior features a 15.4-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 50W wireless phone charging, and a 160-liter front trunk—absent from previous iterations. The vehicle measures 4,630 x 1,920 x 1,670 mm with a 2,750 mm wheelbase.
