Nio Delivers 30,000 ES9 Units in 119 Days
Chinese EV maker Nio reached 30,000 cumulative deliveries of its flagship ES9 luxury SUV on 23 September 2026, achieving the milestone in 119 days from the start of deliveries on 28 May. Founder and CEO William Li handed over the 30,000th vehicle at a ceremony in Suzhou near Shanghai, reflecting strong demand for the premium six-seat model.
CEO William Li announced via Weibo that the most recent 10,000 deliveries were completed in 46 days, signaling accelerating production and delivery momentum. Deliveries commenced on 28 May 2026, following the model's official launch on 27 May at a starting price of 498,000 yuan (approximately $73,810 USD), including the battery pack, positioning it among China's most expensive domestically produced vehicles.
Cumulative deliveries reached 10,000 units on 26 June and 20,000 on 8 August. Available data indicates approximately 5,503 units were delivered during September alone. The ES9 features a 5,365 mm overall length and 3,250 mm wheelbase, employing a 900-volt architecture and supporting rapid battery-swapping technology.
The ES9, combined with the more affordably positioned ES8, represented over 80 percent of Nio's main-brand deliveries in August, underscoring the strategic importance of large premium electric SUVs to the company's sales composition. Nio has expanded geographic delivery reach, commencing ES9 deliveries in Macau on 2 September, coinciding with the opening of Nio's first Nio House in the territory.
